The mineral product drying plant has a processing capacity of approximately 30 tonnes/h, depending on the levels of incoming and outgoing dry materials required.
- These may start at 20% and sometimes reach 99%.
- The centrepiece is a hot gas/product to dry co-current rotary drum, which means that the product and the gases go in the same direction. It should be noted that the product and the burner flame never come into contact with one another.
- The temperature of the gases in the plant vary between 150° and 550°C.
- Wet gas dust extraction (a useful technique for coal drying) was backed up by dry dust extraction in 2005 and 2021.
- The process guarantees a materials yield of over 98%.
